Here are the national champs (for all persons 2+; all times ET) according to BBM/Nielsen for August 17 – August 23, 2009.
Monday: Law & Order: CI on CTV at 9 pm remained the most-watched show on Monday and the second most-watched show of the week with 1.165 million viewers. (The cop drama recorded viewership of 1.282 million the previous Monday.)
Tuesday: Big Brother on Global at 9 pm stayed tops on Tuesday and leapt to first place overall with 1.226 million viewers. (The reality show attracted 1.135 sets of eyeballs the previous Tuesday.)
Wednesday: CSI: New York on CTV at 10 pm garnered 1.107 million viewers, while So You Think You Can Dance Canada on CTV at 8 pm remained in second place on Wednesday with 1.066 million viewers. (CTV Evening News at 6 pm was the previous week’s winner with 1.053 million viewers.)
Thursday: CSI on CTV at 9 pm, which was the most-watched program of the previous week, held down top spot on Thursday with 1.027 million viewers. (The procedural cop drama had 1.306 million viewers the previous Thursday.)
Friday: CTV Evening News at 6 pm remained the most-watched program on Friday with 1.025 million viewers. (The news broadcast attracted 1.053 viewers the previous Friday.)
Saturday: CTV Evening News at 6 pm was watched by 904,000 people, beating out last week’s champ CTV National News at 11 pm, which had 845,000 viewers. (CTV National News was tops the previous Saturday with 840,000 viewers.)
Sunday: CBC’s Sunday Night News at 10 pm was the most-watched program on Sunday with 1.068 million viewers. (Big Brother was on top the previous Sunday with 1.014 million viewers.)
