The cast and crew of Brent Butt’s new sitcom have taken shape, putting the former Corner Gas frontman both in front of and behind the camera for Hiccups.
Butt – already on board as creator, writer and executive producer of the 13 x 30 ep series – will also co-star as an under-qualified life coach, tasked with shepherding a high-strung children’s author, played by wife and Gas cohort Nancy Robertson. When the project was first announced last year, Butt was expected to stay behind the scenes, working through his Vancouver shop Sparrow Media.
The series will shoot in BC through November, according to CTV and the Comedy Network. The network last week put another Corner Gas alum, Fred Ewaniuk, back to work on the sitcom Dan for Mayor.
The Hiccups cast is filled out by Laura Soltis (The Guard), David Ingram (Smallville), Emily Perkins (Ginger Snaps) and Paula Rivera (Flashpoint).
