For all those Canadians wondering about an octopus’ parenting style or the speed of a chameleon’s tongue, Discovery debuts Life next month, a 10-part BBC series about all the minutiae of life in the plant and animal world.
The Canadian premiere of the series bows Sunday, Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. ET on Discovery Channel and Discovery Channel HD with Dodge Journey as the presenting sponsor. The sponsorship package, handled by Dodge media buyer OMD Canada, includes billboards and brand-sell spots on both channels, plus online sponsorship of the Life microsite, launching Nov. 9 on DiscoveryChannel.ca. There will also be on-air promos airing across CTV’s properties.
A BBC production, the series first aired in the UK earlier this month and beat out its closest time-slot rival by almost 35%, a release announcing the show stated. It debuts here with back-to-back episodes and will continue on Discovery channel on Thursdays starting Nov. 19 with back-to-back episodes at 8 and 9 p.m. ET. The series will air on Discovery HD on Saturdays starting Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. ET, with one episode weekly.
BBC-produced DVDs and Blu-Rays of the series are slated for release in spring 2010 to coincide with Earth Day.
