Playhouse Disney is growing in the prairies, where on Wednesday it launched on MTS, adding 86,000 of the telecom company’s TV subscribers.
The commercial-free channel, aimed at kids aged two to seven, is now available through MTS Classic TV and MTS Ultimate TV – which serve areas including Portage La Prairie, Brandon, and Winnipeg.
The addition gives Playhouse a total reach of 1.2 million viewers.
The channel ‘will be well received by customers looking for more programming choices for young children,’ predicted Stan Kurtas, VP marketing at MTS Allstream, a subsidiary of Manitoba Telecom Services, in a release.
Playhouse’s lineup include Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, The Secret World of Benjamin Bear and Franny’s Feet. It is also available on carriers including Cogeco Cable, Mountain Cablevision, Sasktel and Bell ExpressVu.
