If this weekend was any indication, March break will hopefully be filled with sunny skies and open playgrounds for the legions of kids to entertain themselves with. But TV will no doubt be a big draw too, so Family Channel has a premiere-filled lineup scheduled for mid-March. And although the network is commercial-free, the ‘Superstar Spring’ promotional campaign includes online ad opps.
Promoting special programming on-air and online, the centrepiece of the campaign is a promotional contest for the Disney Channel original movie StarStruck. The StarStruck contest offers kids the chance to win an autograph session with the stars of the movie in their hometown. Entries are accepted online at Family.ca, which includes advertising opportunities such as video pre-roll, section sponsorships, branded online contests, game hosting and creation, surveys, product reviews and banner ads. (Presently, the ‘Superstar Spring’ page features an Alice in Wonderland page domination.)
Additionally, Family is running a special promotion on Family.ca in which kids can submit ‘shout outs’ to friends and families to appear during the special programming block.
The channel will also premiere a Canadian original series called Wingin’ It during the promotion about other-worldly teens trying to make it with the cool kids in high school. Also featured during the break will be the Canadian premiere of Season 3 of Hannah Montana, and special cross-over episodes of The Suite Life on Deck.
Family Channel is targeted to kids 8- to 14-years-old.
