As Castle garners stronger and stronger viewership during its second season, CTV has signalled its support for the program by moving its final three episodes from its A channel to the main network.
The series will debut in its new home Monday, May 3 at 10 p.m. ET, following another sleeper hit, The Big Bang Theory, which has been competitive on Monday nights for several months. Castle will get cozy in its new home for three weeks, wrapping on May 17. The sexual tension between main characters Richard Castle (Canadian Nathan Fillion) and Kate Beckett (Stana Katic), however, may or may not reach the same sort of closure.
The show is doing even better south of the border, a release on the move states, outperforming major-league hitters like CSI: Miami and Law & Order in its timeslot. ABC has renewed it for a third season. CTV’s plans for the show are yet to be confirmed.
The hour-long mystery-comedy follows famous crime writer Castle as he helps solve homicides with gritty NYPD cop Beckett.
