Family Channel to rock out with Baxter

Online sponsorship opportunities abound for Baxter, a new Canadian tween series about a cute, high school rock star and his dance troupe.

Baxter, a new Family Channel series, will give tweens yet another rock star to idolize as the show is about talented high school students who often engage in song performances and choreographed dance routines. Named after the title character (played by Evan Williams of Degrassi: The Next Generation), Baxter (13X30) is about a group of friends attending Northern Star School of the Arts who solve their problems about crushes, fears and popularity by organizing stage performances.

Debuting Monday, May 24 at 4 p.m., Baxter will settle into its regular timeslot the following weekend, airing Saturday and Sundays at 10 a.m. The show, produced by Shaftesbury Films in Toronto, will also be housed online on FamilyChannel.ca, where sponsorship opportunities include pre-roll ads, section sponsorships, branded online contests, game hosting and creation, surveys and standard banner ads.

Baxter will be available on Family OnDemand beginning May 18. The target demographic is kids aged eight to 14. Astral-owned Family Channel airs in six million homes across Canada.
