The Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) is launching a new online campaign to instill hometown pride in small communities across the country.
‘It’s My Town’ encourages viewers to email in photos and details about a town’s cultural or historical significance via the APTN website. The best ones will be chosen for short video profiles that will air on the network and online throughout the year. One town will also be profiled on the APTN National News.
APTN is looking for a sponsor for the video segments. The network is promoting it through on-air spots and its website.
‘APTN launched this initiative to show community pride and we would like our viewers to feel like APTN is part of their community,’ a spokesperson told MiC.
The deadline for viewers to submit ideas is July 1.
