Shaw Media announces digital sales team

Digital sales, which were previously outsourced to Postmedia Network, have now been brought in-house.

Shaw Media has announced details of its digital sales team, which it brought in-house this March under the direction of Graeme Mackrell after being previously outsourced to Postmedia Network.

Twelve new positions have been created, including five national sales executives, which Mackrell tells MiC will handle mobile, on demand and online offerings for Shaw Media.

“Shaw Media elected to go with people from various backgrounds for its digital sales team,” he says. “There is greater strength in casting a wide net than in going with people all from the same background.”

The national account executives include former Rogers digital sales and marketing solutions representative Jennifer Blaney; Robert Devereaux, who has worked at Yellow Pages and Ipsos Reid; Bryan Press, who spearheaded the launch of GlobalTV.com; Julie Spina, who has worked at Shaw Media as an inside sales rep; and Kiera Yeates, formerly of Tribute magazine.

The digital sales team is one of three sales “legs” in the Shaw Media department, says Mackrell. The other two are broadcast sales and the marketing ventures group, which covers integrated advertising opportunities.
