ABC recently signaled it wants more of the Canadian drama Rookie Blue, and was quickly followed by Global Television putting in its fourth season order as well.
The series, starring Missy Peregrym and Gregory Smith, received its latest season renewal from both networks Tuesday.
The drama about five rookie cops is set to start production in Toronto in August. The show’s third season is currently airing Thursday nights at 10 p.m. in Canada on Global Television.
“Rookie Blue‘s fourth season renewal in simulcast is unprecedented territory for any Canadian original series, and we’re excited to lead the way,” Barbara Williams, senior VP of content at Shaw Media, said in a statement Tuesday.
