With summer now behind us, it’s time to take a look back at the last 13 weeks with the latest PPM radio ratings. Today’s radio release from BBM Canada completes the 13-week period covering May 28 to Aug. 26. This marks the 12th 13-week period in the new era of measurement for Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary. Let’s take a look at some of the numbers.
Toronto: Bragging rights at the top of the ratings heap go to CHFI-FM with a 12.2% share of hours tuned for A12+ (down from 13.4% last time out). CHUM-FM holds their #1 spot with women aged 25 to 54 delivering a 17.9% share (up from 17.1%) followed by CHFI-FM posting a 14% share (down from 15.5%). Q107 holds their #1 spot for males aged 25 to 54, posting a 10.7% share (down from 11.7% in the last 13-week book). The Edge holds their…edge over the competition with males 18 to 34 turning in a 15.9% share (down from 17.4%). For women aged 18 to 34, CHUM-FM tops the list posting at 19.6% (up from 15%) share followed by CHFI-FM with a 17.5% (down from 18.4%) share of hours tuned.
Vancouver: 103.5QM/FM grabs the #1 spot for A12+ with an 11.9% share of hours tuned (up from 10.9% last time out). Taking the top spot for women aged 25 to 54 was perennial office station favourite 103.5QM/FM, posting a 17.3% share (flat 17.3% last time out). The Beat 94.5 holds the lead with males aged 25-54 listeners, delivering a 12% share (up from 10.5%). The FOX is out in front for males 18 to 34 with an 18.9% share of hours tuned (down from 19%) followed by the Beat at 14% (up from 12.5%). When it comes to females aged 18 to 34, QM/FM takes top spot with a 17.4% share (up from 13%).
Edmonton: 102.3 NOW! Radio rules the roost for A12+ posting a 10.1% share of hours tuned (up from 8.2%). NOW! Radio also takes top spot for women aged 25 to 54, delivering an 11.3% share (up from 9.9%). With a hat trick NOW! also tops the list for men aged 25 to 54 with a 15.5% share (up from 12.1%). For men 18 to 34, NOW! posted an 18.8% (up from 16.8%) followed by Sonic 102.9 with a 16.8% (down from 18.1%) share.
Calgary: CBC Radio One leads the way for A12+ with a 10.2% share (down from 10.8%). Country 105 is popular with the ladies, taking the #1 spot for women aged 25 to 54 delivering a 14% share (up from 12.9%) followed by Virgin at 13.8% (up from 13.4%). For men aged 25 to 54, CJAY92 leads the way with an 11.5% share (up from a 10.4%). Country 105 takes the top spot for men aged 18 to 34, posting a 15.5% share (up from 10 %) followed by CJAY92 with a 15% share (up from 13.8%)
Montreal: CHMP 98.5FM is #1 for A12+ with a 16.9% share (down from 18.4%). CFGL-FM 105.7 Rythme FM is tops with the ladies, taking #1 spot for women aged 25 to 54 delivering a 20.8% share (up from 20.7%). For men aged 25 to 54, CHMP 98.5FM leads the way with a 17.5% share (down from 21.1%).
