Numeris overview: New PPM ratings

Bray and Partners president David Bray breaks down which radio stations are on top in Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Montreal and Calgary.

Instead of venturing out into the worst snowstorm so far this year, I will dig through the latest PPM radio ratings. This release from Numeris (formerly BBM) completes the thirteen week period covering Sept. 1st to November 30th, 2014. Let’s take a look at some of the numbers for the five PPM markets.

Toronto: Bragging rights at the top of the ratings heap go to CHFI-FM with a 13.0% share of hours tuned for A12+ (up from 12.9% last time out).

CHFI-FM takes the #1 spot with the ladies 25 to 54, delivering a 20.6% share (down from 20.9%) followed by CHUM-FM delivering a 17.3% share (up from 16.3%).

Q107 holds the #1 spot for males 25 to 54, posting an 11% share (down from 11.1% in the last 13 week book). CHUM-FM leads the way for males 18 to 34 with a 13.2% share.

For females 18 to 34, CHFI-FM tops the list posting a 23.9% share (up from 23.6%).

Vancouver: Radio One grabs the top spot for A12+ with a 12.5% share of hours tuned (up from 9.9% last time out).

Taking the top spot for females 25 to 54 was QMFM, posting a 13.5% share (up from 12.9% last time out).

The FOX now holds the lead for male listeners ages 25 to 54, delivering a 9.6% share (up from 8.5%). The FOX is out in front for men 18 to 34 with a 16.8% share of hours tuned.

When it comes to females 18 to 34, The Beat takes top spot with a 16.4% share (down from 18.9%).

Edmonton: 102.3 NOW Radio rules the roost for A12+ posting a 12.8% share of hours tuned (up from 12.7%).

NOW! Radio takes top spot for females 25 to 54, delivering a 16% share (down from 16.9%). NOW also tops the list for men 25 to 54 with a 19.5% share (up from 18.2%). For males 18 to 34, NOW! posted a 25.8% share (down from 26.6%).

Calgary: Country 105 leads the way for A12+ with a 10.8% share (down from 10.9%). Country 105 remains popular with the ladies, taking the #1 spot for females 25 to 54 and delivering a 14.4% share (up from 14.1%).

For men 25 to 54, XL103 is #1 with a 10.5% share (up from 10%). Country 105 and XL103 share top spot for males 18 to 34, both delivering a 13.6% share.

Country 105 is #1 for females 18 to 34, posting a 28.6% share (up from 23.1%).

Montreal: CHMP 98.5FM is #1 for A12+ with an 18% share (up from 16%).

CFGL-FM 105.7 Rythme FM is tops with the ladies, taking #1 spot for females 25 to 54, delivering a 19.4% share (down from 20%). For men 25 to 54, CHMP 98.5FM leads the way with a 17.4% share (up from a 15.1%).

The Beat 92.5 is #1 for men 18 to 34, with a 14.4% share.
