Canadian viewers anxious to see the aftermath of Grey’s Anatomy‘s season finale carnage will have to wait less than two months to see McDreamy in action again.
The ratings hit will debut its seventh season at 9 p.m. on Sept. 23, in the middle of CTV’s much-touted ‘Must-see Thursday’ prime-time lineup. The block will feature an almost-all-premiere night on the 23rd, with CSI in its new 7 p.m. timeslot, The Big Bang Theory on its new night at 8 p.m., So You Think You Can Dance Canada (results) at 8:30 p.m. and The Mentalist at 10 p.m. (All timeslots are based on schedules provided during the June upfronts, which the network says are subject to change.)
The big premiere week starts Monday, Sept. 20, when Dancing with the Stars starts its new season at 8 p.m. and Castle follows on its new night in the competitive 10 p.m. timeslot. Monday Sept. 20 is also the premiere date of the new daytime Marilyn Dennis show, which will run Monday to Friday. The newly reborn Conan O’Brien show will start Monday Nov. 8 in a late-night timeslot and will run Monday to Thursday.
Tuesday, Sept. 21 will see the premiere of the 12th season of Law & Order: SVU at 10 p.m. A week later, No Ordinary Family, the Michael Chiklis-helmed drama about a family with superhero powers, debuts in the Tuesday at 8 p.m. timeslot.
Wednesdays will feature two new shows, both of which will start Sept. 22, with the Jim Belushi and Jerry O’Connell law drama The Defenders in a yet-to-be annouced timeslot, and new franchisee Law & Order: Los Angeles in the 10 p.m. spot. Criminal Minds will also start its new season on Sept. 22, filling the gap at 9 p.m.
There’s more new programming on Fridays, as Blue Bloods, a cop drama starring Tom Selleck, debuts its pilot on Sept. 24 at 10 p.m., preceded by a new season of Human Target at 8 p.m. and CSI: NY at 9 p.m.
The premiere date of Saturday’s W5 at 7 p.m. is still TBA for its October start, and Sundays will feature all returning programming with The Amazing Race starting on Sept. 26 with a 90-minute premiere, followed (tentatively) by Desperate Housewives and Undercover Boss. Confirmed timeslots were not available as of press time. CSI: Miami starts its new season on a new night, debuting at 10 p.m. on Oct. 3.
Over on A, new programming debuting in September includes Mike and Molly on Monday, Sept. 20 at 9:30 p.m., Hellcats on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 9 p.m., and Nikita on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 9 p.m. Returning programming premieres include America’s Next Top Model on Wednesday, Sept. 8 at 8 p.m., The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, Sept. 9 at 8 p.m., Private Practice on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 10 p.m., Medium on Friday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. and Dateline the same night at 10 p.m.
