Dragons’ Den star Brett Wilson lands on Slice

The former panelist of the CBC show has signed on to host a new show, Risky Business, on the Shaw Media channel.

Former Dragon Brett Wilson is getting set to make like Tom Cruise with a little Risky Business this fall.

Wilson has signed on to star in a new reality-based series on Shaw Media specialty channel Slice. Risky Business, which we bet will be slightly less risqué than the movie it’s named after, will follow people as they make high-stakes high-rewards financial gambles.

In each show, ordinary and experienced investors alike will get the chance to choose between two unusual investment opportunities pitched by entrepreneurs. The contestants will choose to invest in one of the opportunities, and Wilson will invest in the other, and each has 30 days to turn a profit. At the end of the show, the results of the investments’ performance will be revealed.

Opporunities for brands to be involved in the show are available, a Shaw spokesperson confirmed with MiC, saying that the mediaco is always open to ‘seamless and organic integrations into Canadian series’.’

Wilson starred in CBC’s Dragons’ Den for three years, as one of four panelists/investors. He announced he was leaving Dragons’ Den earlier this year, stating that he felt the show was headed in the wrong direction.

Risky Business is green-lit for 13 30-minute episodes set to start airing this fall. The show is currently casting for investors and entrepreneurs.
