Survivor keeps its lead alive

The reality show continues its reign atop the weekly charts, while Idol, The Big Bang Theory and NHL playoffs lead on their respective nights.

Here are the top-ranked shows in Canada (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM, for April 12 to April 18, 2010.

Monday: Dancing with the Stars on CTV’s A channel and The Big Bang Theory on CTV have been trading off in the top spot for a few weeks now, and this week Big Bang was the winner with 2.492 million viewers. (Last week, Dancing two-stepped to the top with 1.742 million viewers.)

Tuesday: It was another Idol night on CTV, as the reality show delivered 2.731 million viewers, a jump up from its previous chart-topping performance last week at 2.558 million viewers.

Wednesday: CTV’s Idol rules again, this time netting 2.780 viewers (second-highest overall for the week). Last week, it won the night with 2.684 million viewers.

Thursday: Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains on Global continued to captivate Canadians, winning both its night and the overall ratings for the week with 2.939 million viewers, slightly more than its previous week’s tally of 2.911 million viewers.

Friday: The weekend ratings were dominated by NHL Playoffs, with a Round 1 game on TSN leading Friday night with 1.785 million viewers. Last week, CTV Evening News at 6 p.m. won the Friday slot with 1.469 million viewers.

Saturday: CBC was the winning network this night, with Hockey Night in Canada NHL Playoffs earning 1.656 million viewers. It also won Saturday last week, with a much bigger 2.298 million viewers.

Sunday: NHL Playoffs on CBC continued to dominate the weekend ratings Sunday, with Round 1 NHL Playoffs taking another 1.656 million viewers. Last week, Amazing Race 16 on CTV at 8 p.m. had 2.294 million viewers.
