Run, Globe readers, run!

The national newspaper is executing a contest that allows readers to win tickets to Olympic events by chasing down a Vancouver landmark with a paper in hand.

With Games tickets only available at a premium on the resale market, the Globe and Mail giving fans and readers the chance to win them by dashing all over Vancouver, Amazing Race-style.

The national newspaper’s ‘Vancouver Race for Tickets’ contest, launching Feb. 12, invites readers to go to GlobeandMail.com every day of the Games to find out which Vancouver landmark is being revealed that day. Would-be winners must identify the image, register for the contest, grab a Globe and race to the destination. The first person to arrive will get tickets to an Olympic event the next day.

Clues will be revealed daily from noon till 2 p.m. PT. Contestants must reach the destination before 2 p.m. in order to claim their prize. Over 140 pairs of tickets will be given away, to events including hockey, speed skating, curling and figure skating.

The contest will be promoted in the Globe and Mail and on its website. Contest creative was handled by Toronto’s Naked Creative, and contest execution is being handled by Free for All Marketing.
