Flashpoint continues to perform for CTV, where the ‘back nine’ of its second season averaged 1.8 million viewers, despite falling out of simulcast.
That’s a significant increase from the first half of the season, which aired earlier this year in step with CBS to 1.2 million viewers. The numbers have perhaps benefited from this fall’s launch of BBM’s Portable People Meters. (All numbers 2+.)
The cop drama and recent Gemini-winner closed out its sophomore season Friday, hitting 1.6 million with the episode ‘Behind the Blue Line’ according to overnight data, doubling the audience of closest competitor Numbers, on Global, with 770,000 viewers.
Shot at Toronto’s Maple Leaf Gardens, the episode follows the SRU as they try to stop a gunman bent on saving a famed arena from demolition. Flashpoint is produced by Toronto’s Pink Sky Entertainment and Avamar Entertainment.
The series was a top 20 performer for CTV this fall, and broke the two million viewer mark for its premiere in September. Production on its third season gets underway early next year. There’s no word on an airdate.
