In a 13-day campaign to fundraise and promote Special Olympics Canada, Staples has launched its annual ‘Give a Dollar. Share a Dream’ campaign, this year featuring a new donation website.
Starting this week and ending Nov. 17, the company hopes to raise $500,000 for Special Olympics Canada. Promotion of the initiaive will be done through each of the company’s 300 stores across the country and will include in-store events such as athlete appearances and live radio broadcasts. In addition to in-store activity and POP, ads will be included in the millions of Staples flyers that are distributed nationwide and on the Staples website. Special Olympics Canada is also distributing an e-alert to its 32,000 members.
The highlight of this year’s campaign is a new website, in both French and English versions, that allows people to make their donations online instead of just in-store. The site, designed by US-based Grassroots Enterprise, features Staples and Special Olympics branding and allows donors to choose which province they’d like to support.
‘Staples Canada, its associates and customers have been tremendous fans of Special Olympics Canada over the years,’ Deborah Bright, president and CEO of Special Olympics Canada, said in a release. ‘We can offer quality sport programs to enrich the lives of Canadians with an intellectual disability because of the tremendous support through the ‘Give a Dollar. Share a Dream’ campaign.’
