The fall programming season at APTN kicks off Monday with three original new shows and four network premieres.
Moose TV, a new half-hour comedy original to the network, stars actor Adam Beach (Law & Order: SVU; Walker, Texas Ranger), the show chronicles life in a small town after a local television station is re-opened. It debuts on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 9:30 p.m. ET on APTN East.
The other two original shows are In Focus and APTN Investigates, both featuring original news programming. Debuting on Sept. 11 at 6:30 pm ET on APTN East, In Focus is a half-hour analytical news show focusing on current events and featuring interviews with experts, reporters and news sources. APTN Investigates is an investigative news show focusing on Aboriginal-specific stories. It runs on alternating weeks on the same day and time slot as In Focus, debuting Friday, Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. ET on APTN East.
All three shows have a target demographic of 25- to 54-year-old Aboriginal people in Canada.
For kids, also joining the network this fall is Double Trouble, an Australian show about Aboriginal twin girls who swap lives, broadcasting on Fridays at 4:30 p.m. ET on APTN East starting on Sept. 11. Children’s show Little Bear, chronicling the adventures of a bear and his friends, debuts on the APTN East network on Monday Sept. 7 at 9:30 a.m. ET, and will broadcast regularly on Fridays at 9:30 a.m. ET.
APTN will also add two new French-language shows to its APTN East lineup: C’est parti mon tipi on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET starting Sept. 7 and Makusham, launching the same day at 1 p.m. ET and broadcasting in the same time slot throughout the season.
