Millions of tween girls rejoiced yesterday as Astral Media’s Family Channel announced that in June it will premiere Jonas, a comedy series starring well-coiffed, multi-platinum recording teen artists Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas. The episodes will be available on Family OnDemand beginning Tuesday, June 9, and can also be viewed at Family.ca following their June 12 premiere on Family Channel.
Advertising opportunities on Family.ca include video pre-roll, section sponsorships, branded online contests, game hosting and creation, surveys, product reviews and banner ads. According to a spokesperson, the Best Western hotel chain is targeting their pre-roll ads specifically to the Jonas series on the site’s broadband player.
The half-hour comedy series, which targets kids aged eight to 14, follows the fictional rock and roll superstars the Lucas Brothers through unpredictable and often absurd situations as they try to live ordinary lives. The series is set in the Lucas’ New Jersey home, where the three rockers live with their parents and little brother Frankie (Frankie Jonas). The series features original Jonas Brothers songs created especially for the show.
Following its June 12 premiere, the regular time slot for the series, which will run for 21 episodes, is Fridays at 6:30 pm. Episodes will air immediately afterward on Family.ca, which receives about 1 million unique visitors a month.
