There will be a whole new set of sunshine boys and girls to choose from this summer as the Toronto Sun has signed on as the official newspaper team of the Toronto Argonauts Football Club and the 2009 Argos Cheerleaders. As part of the partnership, the mediaco will also deliver a new weekly show on Sun TV called Argos Access every Tuesday at 6 pm starting June 9.
Throughout the CFL season, Michael ‘Pinball’ Clemons will team up with Jacqui Delaney (CFRB’s The Bill Carroll Show) for an all-access look at the Argonauts. In each half-hour episode an insider will deliver analysis of the team’s performance on the field and go behind the scenes to meet the players. Argos Access will be produced in-house at Sun TV as the latest addition to the station’s sports department.
‘Sun TV is committed to building new relationships in the community and with Argos Access, we have the opportunity to partner with Toronto’s oldest professional sports franchise,’ says Don Gaudet, general manager of programming, Sun TV and Men TV, in a release. Sun TV’s coverage area includes 90% of the population in the province.
