American Idol's 'Wild Card Special' reveals itself as a close second.

Here are the national champs (for all persons 2+; all times ET) according to BBM/Nielsen for March 2 – 8, 2009:

Monday: CSI Miami on CTV at 10 pm had the largest audience for the night with 1.622 million viewers. (It replaced House on Global which was most watched the previous week with 2.463 million viewers.)

Tuesday: American Idol performance show on CTV at 8 pm returns to the top with 2.088 million viewers. (Global’s NCIS won over 1.550 million viewers as the highest rated show the previous week.)

Wednesday: American Idol results show on CTV at 8 pm had 1.857 million viewers. (The Idol performance show on CTV was the most popular the previous week with 2.038 million viewers.)

Thursday: CSI on CTV at 9 pm is the returning champ for the night and the highest-rated of the week with an audience of 2.474 million. It was preceded by the second-most popular of the week, American Idol‘s ‘Wild Card Special’ that revealed the top 12 singers, and had 2.107 million viewers. (CSI on CTV was the most-watched program the previous week with an audience of 2.740 million.)

Friday: CTV Evening News at 6 pm was the highest-rated for the day with 1.479 million viewers. (It was also most popular the previous Friday with a similar 1.440 million viewers.)

Saturday: Hockey Night in Canada on CBC at 7 pm attracted 1.428 million viewers. (The show was the most-watched the previous week with just 1.141 viewers.)

Sunday: The Amazing Race on CTV at 8 pm is on top again with 2.013 million viewers. (It was the most watched program the previous week, although with a slightly smaller audience of 2 million.)
