Mango Moose Media doubles up Toronto’s transit ads

This spring, double-decker tour bus wraps will hit the road.

Guerilla marketing agency Mango Moose Media is offering Toronto’s double-decker tourism buses as a new ad platform, the Toronto-based shop announced yesterday.

Starting in May when the tours begin, Mango Moose is offering wraps that will target downtown professionals in Toronto’s high-traffic areas like Yorkville, Little Italy and the Entertainment District. Operated by Star Double Decker Bus Company, the hop-on hop-off fleets run for 10 hours daily through to September, and buyers can purchase one or all four of the buses for the season. This is the first time the company is offering the option to advertise on their buses.

‘You’re getting a billboard that’s going to dominate the streets,’ says Raymond Wali, managing director of Mango Moose Media. As to the difference between the buses and a TTC transit car, Wali says it’s double the size (with the ability to wrap all sides of the vehicle) at a lesser rate. Wali estimates each bus to have about 30,000 impressions per day. The cost of media is $6,500, and production rings up at $19,500.
