CTV, which is partway through touring a live adaptation of So You Think You Can Dance Canada across the country, is bringing back the dance-off competition that paid off so well in the fall.

‘The success of the first season of So You Think You Can Dance Canada has inspired a whole new group of dancers across the country,’ said programming boss Susanne Boyce. ‘With the talent Canada has to offer, the second season is sure to be even more show-stopping than the first.’

The renewal comes as no surprise, considering the warm response that greeted the series. Dance Canada averaged 1.4 million viewers per week last fall. Details on the new season, from auditions to ad opps, are to be announced in coming weeks.

The show is based on the format from 19 Entertainment and Dick Clark Productions, produced here by Danse TV in association with CTV.
