The Comedy Network has picked up Important Things with Demetri Martin, and will air the new series by The Daily Show alum a week after its debut on Comedy Central.
Important Things – described as a mix of sketch, stand-up and animated what-not – will air on Wednesdays at 10:30 pm, following the homemade Jon Dore Television Show.
The show is exec produced by Martin, a young comic best known as the ‘youth expert’ on The Daily Show, and by The Daily Show‘s Jon Stewart, working through his Busboy Productions shingle. Stewart has reportedly taken an active role in shepherding the show and his protégée through production, the results of which go to air in the US on Feb. 11. Important Things will bow in Canada on Feb. 18.
Guest appearances on the 30-minute show will include comic David Cross, Amanda Peet and Martin’s Daily Show colleague John Oliver.
