Notes from the mediascape: Media giants meet on YouTube for Beijing

That's right. Viewers can participate via the Summer Games YouTube channel.

YouTube is launching the Summer Games YouTube Channel to showcase videos from news organizations including the Associated Press, Getty Images, The New York Times, Reuters and Travel Channel and enable browsers to stay up to date on all the events in Beijing.

The channel will show news, analysis, expert insights, human interest pieces, insider interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, features and cultural videos. Viewers have the option to watch videos and use community features such as video responses, comments and ratings.

‘The Summer Games YouTube Channel is the ideal first stop for fans because it provides a comprehensive view of what’s going on in Beijing,’ says Steve Grove, YouTube’s head of news and politics. ‘Contributing media organizations have their fingers on the city’s pulse and they’re sharing the action with a worldwide audience through one location on YouTube.’
