Comedy Network delivers laughter for Canada Day

To mark Canada Day, the net will kick off a week-long celebration of Canuck-themed eps of The Simpsons and South Park. It's also set to broadcast new-to-Canada animated comedy Lil' Bush online and on-demand.

To help viewers celebrate Canada’s 141st birthday, CTVglobemedia’s Comedy Network is airing specials featuring Canadian comedians Brent Butt and Jeremy Hotz, as well as a full week of Canadian-themed episodes of The Simpsons and South Park. And making its Canadian broadcasting premiere is the animated half-hour comedy Lil’ Bush.

The full week of The Simpsons and South Park begins Monday, June 30, at 9 and 9:30 pm. On July 1, at 10 pm, Brent Butt: Funny Pants and Jeremy Hotz: Only In Cana-Duh will continue the comedy.

On July 13 at 9:30 pm, season one of Lil’ Bush (pictured) will make its Canadian debut. Springing from the zany brain of Donick Cary (creator/exec producer of The Simpsons), the show revolves around a pre-pubescent George W. Bush as he and his pals try to solve the world’s problems.

Among the voices of the animated characters in season one are Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), Frank Black (the Pixies), Jeff Tweedy (Wilco) and members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
