Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN) is gearing up to launch some new summer programming in July.
Road Scholars/Cool Jobs will air Saturdays at 10 am ET/PT, starting July 4. Road Scholars is a youth travel series that dispatches handfuls of Canadian teens to various locations in the Arctic, Fiji, Costa Rica, Mexico, Australia and Peru. During their stay the teens shoot their own video with a professional camera crew.
Overseas Legends will launch July 10 in the Thursday 7 pm ET/PT time slot. The show is about people of our time who are creating tomorrow’s world legends, from Tahitian Mahi Mahi hunters to the South Pacific cowboys.
From the Spirit will air Fridays at 7 pm ET/PT, starting July 11. The series features talented Aboriginal artists. Each episode explores the cultural heritage of the artist, which can include stories and legends.
Shining Mountain will begin July 10, airing in the Thursdays 12 am and Sundays 12 pm ET/PT time slots. The four one-hour films, shot over four seasons, explore the natural wonders and heritage of the Rocky Mountains.
When the Music Speaks will air Sundays at 5:30 pm ET/PT and Saturdays at 6:30 pm ET/PT, beginning July 10. The 13 half-hour episodes are the result of 15 musical groups performing in Montreal in November 2003.
Art Zone will launch July 19 in the Saturday 10:30 am ET/PT time slot. The series teaches preteens how to make artful objects using items found around the house and outdoors.
Wolf Lake will air Wednesdays at 10 pm ET/PT, starting July 2. The show is about a Seattle cop who is sent on a personal mission when his girlfriend disappears one night after leaving his apartment. The show was nominated for a 2002 Leo Award for Best Cinematography.
The Adventures of Lucky Luke, an animated show based on the Belgian series set in the American Old West, will air Saturdays at 11:30 am ET/PT, starting July 31.
