Until now, the approximately 245 million people who ride escalators daily in North America have been a mostly untapped captive audience. Enter ADRail, which has installed advertising on the handrails of escalators in major airports and transit systems throughout Europe and Asia as well as London’s Heathrow Airport – and now intends to follow suit in Canada.
Represented by Oshawa, Ont.-based EHC Global – which currently supplies escalator handrails all over the world, including at Pearson Airport, BCE Place, TTC and GO Transit in the Toronto area – ADRail will stage its Canadian debut at the Canadian Marketing Association’s annual convention in Toronto May 12-14.
ADRail’s patented ad system for escalator handrails has been engineered to be quickly applied on-site to existing escalator handrails, with temporary film staying in place for any campaign length, from a day or two for a single event to a year or more.
