TSN.ca relaunches, celebrates traffic milestones

TSN, which has a new online look in time for the NHL playoffs, took yesterday's relaunch announcement as an opportunity to share some traffic stats.

TSN has relaunched TSN.ca and timed the move with the NHL playoffs. The new look features five applications, a cleaner design, bolder images and easier navigation. It’s the fourth major redesign and the eighth relaunch since TSN.ca debuted in 1995.

Today, TSN.ca attracts an average of 4.9 million unique visitors and 90 million page views per month – more than double the monthly traffic of other English Canadian sports broadcasters’ websites.

The net has added interactive video and more user-generated content in the ‘Your Call’ section. Users can vote for the best video submissions and share video comments on social networking websites. Last month, Your Call recorded 2.4 million page views. The site also has a live scoreboard, an in-game tracker set for debut with the playoffs and an embedded video player.

To highlight the relaunch, TSN has released some facts and figures about its online destination’s traffic success. Here’s a list of newsworthy nuggets:

*14.26 million page views represents the record for most page views in a single day (February 26, 2008 – NHL Trade Deadline Day)

*1.9 million streams represents the record for most video streams served in a single day (January 5, 2007 – IIHF World Junior Championship gold medal game featuring Team Canada vs. Team Russia)
