T-Shirt-TV arrives in Canada

Mounted on the torsos of walking, talking brand ambassadors, these ultimate flat-screen televisions have been worn in the US on behalf of Chase Bank, the NBA and other big marketers for the past four years.

Marketers interested in literally taking their messages to consumers wherever they happen to be might consider T-Shirt TV. Just what it sounds like, the media tool actually embeds flat-screen TVs on the T-shirts of street teams. The technology has been used in the US for the past four years, Jennifer Mason Murkovich, president of Toronto-based Splash Marketing & Promotions, tells MiC.

T-Shirt TV made its Canadian debut last week at the Biz Bash Show in Toronto. Murkovich says Splash has been having sit-downs with ad agencies and PR firms in the city, and that 10 brands have expressed interest in the high-tech t-shirt-vertising. Her company is currently negotiating with a telecommunications company that’s launching a new product in western Canada and a TV network for use at their 10-day summer festival in Montreal.
