W Network’s ‘The 12 Days of Christmas’ programming will run from Thursday, Dec. 13 to Monday, Dec. 24 this holiday season and include both classic movies and original specials.
On Dec. 8 at 2 pm, Holiday Wishes (2006) will kick off a broadcast of 26 festive flicks over 12 days, wrapping with 1947’s classic Miracle on 34th Street on Dec. 23 at 9 pm.
Additionally, W Net will air three original specials, beginning with Colour Confidential 2007 Holiday Special at 6 pm on Dec. 8 (repeating on Dec. 13 at 8 pm). Immediately following will be Save Us From Our House: Children’s Wish Special, which will air Dec. 8 at 6:30 pm (repeating on Dec. 28 at 11:30 am and 8:30 pm). The Shopping Bags: Christmas Fundraiser for the Schoolyard will air Dec. 13 at 8:30 pm (repeating on Dec. 15 at 6 pm).
Also, Grumpy Old Men at Christmas will air Dec. 18 at 8 pm. The Brit-com holiday doc explores what’s most annoying about the annual holiday onslaught – including being forced to feign gratitude for unwanted gifts. A similar comedy doc, Grumpy Old Women at Christmas, will air Dec. 20 at 8 pm (repeating Dec 24 at 4 pm), and cover such grump-inducing obligations as having to be the perfect domestic goddess during the holidays.
Starting Boxing Day, viewers can relax with three days of back-to-back episodes of W Net shows from 3-8 pm: Maxed Out on Wednesday, Dec. 26; The Shopping Bags on Dec. 27; and You Are What You Eat on Dec. 28.
