Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM/Nielsen, for Oct. 22-28, 2007.
News and daily shows: CTV Evening News at 6 pm fell two spots to #17 with an average minute audience of 1.494 million viewers (up from 1.459 million on the previous week’s national chart). The net’s Jeopardy/Access Hollywood at 7:30 pm stayed at 21 with 1.217 million (up from 1.169 million). CTV National News at 11 pm hit #30 with 959,000 viewers.
Monday: CTV’s CSI: Miami at 10 pm climbed two spots to #5 with 2.386 million viewers with no competition on the chart. The net’s Dancing with the Stars, airing 8-9:32 pm, stayed at #8 with 2.022 million (up from 1.784 million), while Corner Gas at 9:32 pm stayed at #18 with 1.484 million (up from 1.294 million). Global’s Heroes at 9 pm stayed at #20 with 1.302 million (up from 1.274 million), while the net’s Prison Break at 8 pm took #19 with 1.318 million.
Tuesday: Global’s House at 9 pm rose back to the top, climbing 11 spots to #2 with 2.433 million (up from 1.6 million) against CTV’s Dancing with the Stars, which stepped up one spot to #13 with 1.634 million (up from 1.549 million). CTV’s Law & Order: SVU won the 10 pm time slot, falling one spot to #9 with 1.895 million (down from 1.921 million). At 8 pm, Global’s NCIS fell one spot to #12 with 1.666 million (down from 1.73 million), while CBC’s Rick Mercer Report hit #29 with 971,000 viewers.
Wednesday: CTV’s CSI: New York at 10 pm stepped up to the top spot, taking #1 with 2.461 million viewers (down from 2.471 million). The net’s Criminal Minds at 9 pm climbed two spots to take #3 with 2.431 million (up from 2.23 million). Private Practice at 8 pm gave CTV a night of prime time domination. The show climbed three spots to #14 with 1.614 million (up from 1.38 million).
Thursday: CTV’s Grey’s Anatomy at 9 pm fell from the top down to #4 with 2.4 million viewers (down from 2.792 million) against Global’s Are You Smarter Than A Canadian 5th Grader?, which hit #16 with 1.502 million. Global’s Survivor: China won 8 pm, falling two spots to #6 with 2.244 million (down from 2.261 million) against CTV’s CSI, which fell eight spots to #10 with 1.783 million (down from 2.654 million). CTV’s ER at 10 pm fell two spots to #11 with 1.731 million (down from 1.815 million).
Friday: CTV’s Ghost Whisperer at 8 pm fell three spots to #22 with 1.216 million viewers (down from 1.285 million). Global’s Las Vegas took 10 pm, falling five spots to #27 with 1.016 million (down from 1.116 million).
Saturday: CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada Game One, airing 7-10:05 pm, fell one spot to #25 with 1.094 million (up from 1.072 million). CTV’s W-Five at 7 pm climbed three spots to #26 with 1.07 million (up from 988,000).
Sunday: CTV dominated prime time with no competition making the Top 30. Desperate Housewives at 9 pm fell one spot to #7 with 2.097 million viewers (down from 2.222 million). Law & Order: CI at 10 pm stepped up one spot to #15 with 1.568 million (up from 1.413 million). Cold Case at 8 pm fell 11 spots to #23 with 1.127 million (down from 1.677 million). CSI at 8 pm hit #24 with 1.115 million.
