Two days each for Idol and Brother
BBM/Nielsen Top 30 – Sept. 3-9, 2007

CTV's Canadian Idol is still at the top and crackin' the two million mark. But Global's Big Brother has a firm hold on Thursday and Sunday.

Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+, all times ET), according to BBM/Nielsen, for Sept. 3-9, 2007.

News and daily shows: CTV Evening News at 6 pm fell one spot to #5 with an average minute audience of 1.356 million viewers (up from 1.244 million on the previous week’s national chart). The net’s Jeopardy/Access Hollywood at 7:30 pm stepped up two spots to #11 with 963,000 (up from 899,000). Global National at 5:30 pm climbed two spots to #15 with 881,000 (up from 820,000), while News Hour at 6 pm fell two spots to #18 with 831,000 (up from 824,000). Global’s The Young & The Restless at 4:30 pm fell six spots to #20 with 793,000 (down from 848,000). CTV National News at 11 pm fell two spots to #23 with 745,000 (up from 726,000). CBC’s National News at 10 pm hit #30 with 646,000 viewers.

Monday: CTV’s Canadian Idol at 9 pm stayed at #1 with 2.096 million viewers (up from 1.878 million). The net’s CSI: Miami at 10 pm climbed three spots to #3 with 1.419 million (up from 1.138 million). And Corner Gas jumped five spots and won 8 pm for CTV with 956,000 (up from 817,000).

Tuesday: Canadian Idol‘s 8 pm stayed at #2 with 1.996 million viewers (up from 1.57 million). CTV also won 9 pm with Criminal Minds jumping six spots to #4 with 1.403 million (up from 954,000) against Global’s Big Brother, which fell two spots to #7 with 1.269 million (up from 1.238 million). CTV’s Law & Order: SVU took 10 pm, stepping one spot to #10 with 1.22 million (up from 941,000). Global’s Power of 10 fell 14 spots to #22 with 763,000 (down from 979,000).

Wednesday: CTV’s Criminal Minds won the night at 9 pm, stepping up to #10 with 970,000 viewers (up from 773,000). At 10 pm, CSI: New York kept most of that audience and #12 with 963,000 (up from 935,000). CBC’s evening movie, airing 7:30-10 pm, earned more than Global’s shows, hitting #24 with 720,000 viewers. Global’s Power of 10 at 8 pm hit #26 with 704,000 (down from 765,000), while Bones at 9 pm hit #27 with the same average. CTV’s According to Jim at 8:30 stayed at #29 with 676,000 (up from 637,000).

Thursday: Global’s Big Brother won the night at 8 pm with 1.311 million viewers (up from 1.259 million). CTV’s CSI at 8 pm earned an average of 811,000 for both Thursday and Friday – falling 10 spots to #19. CTV’s Grey’s Anatomy at 9 pm fell four spots to #28 with 682,000 (down from 703,000).

Friday: Aside from CSI‘s average (see Thursday), CTV’s Law & Order: SVU at 10 pm stepped up one spot on the chart to #14 with 932,000 viewers (up from 842,000).

Saturday: No prime time drama on this chart for Saturday.

Sunday: Global’s Big Brother at 8 pm won the night again with 1.256 million viewers (up from 1.048 million) and fell one spot to #8. CBC’s Test the Nation: Watch Your Language, airing 8-9 pm, averaged 876,000 viewers and hit the chart at #16. CTV’s documentaries, airing 7-10 pm edged in at #17 with 854,000 viewers. The Ceeb’s Sunday Night News at 10 pm hit #25 with 705,000 viewers.
