BBM/Nielsen Top 30 – July 30-August 5, 2007

Global's Big Brother, American Inventor and Family Guy are doing well, but CTV's winning every night but Sunday on this national chart - without competition on Mondays and Fridays.

Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+, all times ET), according to BBM/Nielsen for July 30-August 5, 2007.

News and daily shows: CTV Evening News at 6 pm fell five spots to #7 with an average minute audience of 1.103 million viewers (down from 1.16 million on the previous week’s national chart). The net’s Jeopardy/Access Hollywood at 7:30 pm climbed one spot to #11 with 880,000 (down from 918,000). Global’s National at 5:30 pm climbed three spots to #13 with 813,000 (up from 804,000), while News Hour at 6 pm jumped four spots to #16 with 765,000 (up from 758,000). CTV National News at 11 pm fell one spot to #18 with 733,000 (down from 784,000). Global’s The Young & The Restless at 4:30 pm climbed eight spots to #21 with 661,000 (up from 632,000). CBC’s National News at 10 pm hit #23 with 649,000 viewers.

Monday: CTV kept #1 with Canadian Idol in the 9 pm time slot, raking in 1.517 million viewers (up from 1.32 million). The net’s CSI: Miami, the only other show to make the Top 30, climbed one spot to #4 and attracted 1.188 million (up from 1.099 million).

Tuesday: CTV’s Canadian Idol at 9:30 pm climbed nine spots to #2 with 1.405 million viewers (up from 984,000). The net’s America’s Got Talent, airing from 8-9:30 pm, fell two spots to #6 but raked in 1.127 million viewers (up from 1.105 million). Global’s Big Brother at 9 pm fell one spot to #8 with 1.055 million (up from 1.037 million). CTV’s Law & Order: SVU at 10 pm stayed at #10 with 934,000 (down from 984,000). Global’s House hit #24 and attracted 638,000 viewers in the 8 pm time slot.

Wednesday: CTV’s So You Think You Can Dance?, airing 8-9:30 pm, climbed three spots to #5 with 1.136 million viewers (up from 1.014 million). The net’s CSI: New York at 10 pm fell five spots to #15 with 796,000 (down from 975,000). Global’s American Inventor at 9 pm jumped 11 spots to #17 with 742,000 (up from 661,000), while 1 vs. 100 fell three spots to #29 with 573,000 viewers (down from 694,000) in the 8 pm time slot.

Thursday: CTV’s So You Think You Can Dance? at 9 pm won the night again, staying at #3 with 1.241 million viewers (up from 1.159 million). Global’s Big Brother won the 8 pm time slot, climbing five spots to #9 with 1.007 million (up from 833,000). CTV’s Criminal Minds at 10 pm jumped six spots to #12 with 835,000 (up from 766,000). The net’s CSI at 8 pm fell one spot to #14 with 801,000 (down from 854,000).

Friday: CTV had two shows on the chart with no competition from other nets. Law & Order: CI at 10 pm climbed one spot to #20 with 689,000 (down from 753,000). Law & Order at 9 pm fell three spots to #30 with 567,000 (down from 688,000).

Saturday: Nothing to report on the Top 30.

Sunday: Global’s Big Brother at 8 pm won the night again but fell 13 spots to #19 with 719,000 viewers (down from 1.064 million). Global’s Family Guy was in a close battle with CTV’s Cold Case for the 9 pm time slot. Family Guy at 9:30 pm won with 625,000 viewers (down from 766,000) and took #25, while Cold Case earned 609,000 at #26, beating Family Guy‘s 9 pm average of 605,000 viewers (down from 736,000). CTV won the 10 pm time slot with Law & Order: SVU, which fell six spots to #28 with 578,000 (down from 745,000).
