Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+, all times ET), according to BBM/Nielsen for July 2-8.
News and daily shows: CTV Evening News at 6 pm fell two spots to #4 with an average minute audience of 1.089 million viewers (down from 1.146 million on the previous week’s national chart). Global’s National at 5:30 pm fell seven spots to #17 with 823,000 (down from 845,000). CTV’s Jeopardy/Access Hollywood at 7:30 pm fell 10 spots to #18 with 818,000 (down from 965,000). CTV National News at 11 pm fell three spots to #19 with 815,000 (up from 744,000). Global’s News Hour at 6 pm fell seven spots to #20 with 805,000 (up from 792,000).
Global’s The Young & The Restless at 4:30 pm fell another two spots to #24 with 679,000 (up from 662,000). CBC’s Coronation Street at 7 pm climbed three spots to #26 with 638,000 (up from 537,000).
Monday: CTV’s Canadian Idol average for Monday and Tuesday at 9 pm was 1.252 million viewers (down from 1.465 million) – keeping the show at #1 on the Top 30. The net’s Criminal Minds at 8 pm hit #8 with 1.014 million, while CSI: Miami at 10 pm earned 945,000 (down from 1.032 million) and fell six spots to #6. Global’s Without a Trace at 10 pm earned 676,000 (up from 615,000) and fell one spot to #25.
Tuesday: Other than Canadian Idol (see Monday note), the night’s big winner was CTV’s Law & Order at 10 pm, which raked in 1.151 million viewers, taking #3 on the chart. Global’s House at 9 pm stayed at #9 with 1.013 million (up from 862,000).
Wednesday: CTV’s Criminal Minds at 9 pm took #2 and won the night with 1.234 million viewers against Global’s American Inventor, which fell a dozen spots to #29 with 615,000 (down from 711,000). CTV’s Canadian Idol at 7:30 pm climbed five spots to #6 with 1.054 million (up from 831,000). Global’s 1 vs. 100 at 8 pm earned 616,000 viewers and hit the chart at #28, but it couldn’t beat CTV’s CSI: New York, which took #7 with 1.025 million.
Thursday: Global’s Big Brother at 8 pm won the night, hitting the chart at #5 with 1.08 million viewers against CTV’s CSI, which hit #13 and attracted 933,000 for that time slot. CSI at 10 pm fell six spots to #10 with 1.006 million (down from 1.052 million), winning that time slot with no competition from Global showing up on the Top 30. CTV’s Pirate Master at 9 pm fell another four spots to #23 with 731,000 (up from 703,000).
Friday: Global owned Friday night with Bones at 8 pm climbing three spots to #22 with 738,000 (up from 612,000) and Numb3rs at 10 pm, which fell seven spots to #27 with 634,000 (down from 677,000).
Saturday: No primetime notes for this Top 30.
Sunday: CTV’s Law & Order: SVU at 10 pm won the night with 986,000 viewers (up from 752,000) and took #11. Global won 8 pm and 9 pm with Big Brother earning 850,000 and Family Guy‘s 892,000 at 9 pm and 750,000 at 9:30 pm. CTV’s evening news hit #16 with 837,000, while the net’s Cold Case fell 18 spots to #30 with 615,000 (down from 793,000).
