Here are the national winners (for all persons 2+, all times ET) according to BBM/Nielsen for May 21-27, 2007.
Monday: Dancing with the Stars on CTV raked in the night’s highest numbers in the 8 pm time slot, measuring an average minute audience of 1.915 million viewers (up from 1.771 million on the previous week’s chart) against Global’s 24, which got 1.118 million (down from 1.219 million). CTV’s CSI: Miami at 10 pm recorded a 1.545 million average (down from 2.15 million) against Heroes on Global, which got 706,000 (down from 879,000 from the previous week and 924,000 the week before that). CTV’s Law & Order: CI won the 9 pm time slot with 1.173 million viewers and no rival on the Top 30.
Tuesday: American Idol on CTV at 8 pm won the night with 2.505 million viewers (down from 2.787 million). The 9 pm time slot saw Global’s House earn 1.07 million viewers (down from 2.098 million) against the CBC’s NHL Playoffs, which won the time slot with 1.37 million. CTV’s Law & Order: SVU at 10 pm earned 1.466 million (down from 1.931 million).
Wednesday: American Idol won the Top 30 for CTV with 2.532 million viewers watching from 8-10 pm (up from 2.227 million). The only other primetime entry to make the Top 30 was CTV’s Lost, which attracted 911,000 for the 7 pm hour and another 938,000 for the 10 pm hour (up from its previous week’s 875,000 viewers).
Thursday: So You Think You Can Dance? on CTV won the night with 1.372 million viewers watching 8-9:25 pm. The net’s CSI at 10 pm came second with 1.215 million (down from 3.029 million), while On the Lot‘s half-hour at 9:30 pm earned 794,000 viewers. Global’s Shark came last with 771,000 viewers in the 10 pm time slot.
Friday: One show ranked in the Top 30 – hitting the list at #17. It came from CTV. It aired at 10 pm. It captured an average of 899,000 viewers. Its name… was Law & Order (GONG!!!). Its numbers were, however, down from the previous week (1.571 million).
Saturday: Nothing notable about Saturday on this Top 30. So we interrupt our regular programming for a quick note on News, Jeopardy, Oprah and Dr. Phil: Several spots on this week’s national BBM/Nielsen charts were occupied by news and talk shows, plus Jeopardy. CTV Evening News at 6 pm Monday through Friday raked in an average minute audience of 1.423 million and hit #6 on the chart, while the weekend airings measured 716,000 viewers and hit #24. CTV National News at 11 pm earned an average of 770,000 viewers for the week. Global National, airing Monday through Friday at 5:30 pm, measured 799,000 viewers and hit #20, while Global’s News Hour at 6 pm measured 713,000 viewers at #28. Jeopardy/Access Hollywood, airing at 7:30 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, cracked 1.004 million viewers at hit #13. Dr Phil, airing Monday through Friday at 5 pm, earned 774,000 viewers and hit #22, beating Oprah, which earned an average of 675,000 viewers for the 4 pm time slot and rested in last place on the Top 30.
Sunday: Cold Case on CTV won the night with 1.042 million viewers watching at 9 pm against Global’s Family Guy, which earned 752,000. Global’s The Simpsons at 8:30 pm came second with 836,000 viewers (down from 1.033 million). CTV’s Law & Order: SVU at 10 pm earned 823,000 viewers against Global’s Without a Trace, which got 765,000.
