The Movie Network and Movie Central have picked up the 10-part thriller Meadowlands, adding the UK-shot series to their schedules for June. Also set to air in the US on Showtime, the series will make a day-and-date debut on MC on Sunday, June 17, before airing on TMN the following Monday.
The series is a copro between Showtime and Channel 4, on which it is known as Cape Wrath, and comes from exec producer Douglas Rae (Monarch of the Glen, Mrs. Brown), of Ecosse Films, and writers/creators Robert Murphy (Murder City) and Matthew Arlidge (Monarch of the Glen). Meadowlands stars David Morrissey (State of Play) as the head of a family moved by a witness relocation program to a seemingly idyllic town that, in fact, holds many dark secrets. The series will also air on-demand and in high-definition on both channels.
