CTV and CH have reworked their schedules for summer with a mix of the old and the new. CH, which becomes E! in September, is borrowing The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency from its sister channel TVtropolis, along with the pop culture show Whatever Happened To?. Dickinson premieres May 28 at 10 pm ET, while Whatever makes its CH debut June 4 at 7:30 pm ET.

CH will also run the sixth season of FX’s The Shield, starring Anthony Chiklis as a rogue detective, starting May 29 at 10 pm – the Tuesday slot previously held by Boston Legal. On the comedy front, the second season of Fox series The Loop, starring Bret Harrison (Grounded for Life), debuts Sunday, June 10 at 9:30 pm.

CTV’s summer schedule will be bolstered by the return of its singing contest, Canadian Idol, on Tuesday, June 5 with a special 90-minute audition episode. Meanwhile, the much-hyped reality series On the Lot, from Mark Burnett and Steven Spielberg, debuts Tuesday, May 22 at 9 pm, taking over American Idol‘s slot.

Also from Burnett, the reality show Pirate Master, wherein 16 contestants search for a hidden treasure, will kick off CTV’s Thursday line-up at 8 pm beginning May 31.

Instant Star will air what’s left of its second season in May and June before moving onto its third run in July. The reality-flavored teen drama got only partway through its second run last summer before it fell off the CTV grid. The remaining six episodes will run Sundays at 7:30 pm ET starting May 27. CTV says it will run the third season sometime in July, though a time slot has not been specified.

Other titles on CTV this summer include reality contest So You Think You Can Dance?, the tenth season of Comedy Now!, and the Concert for Diana special from London’s Wembley Stadium, airing on Canada Day.
