Spotted! Igor hangs out in Toronto

Saputo's crazy monkey can been seen hanging out on transit shelters all over the city this week - what's he up to?

Igor the monkey has been welcoming Torontonians to the jungle all week.

Strategy‘s special reports editor Emily Wexler and creative director Stephen Stanley spotted the cartoony primate hanging out at this Astral entertainment district bus shelter on Tuesday. Igor is the spokes-monkey for the Saputo-owned Igor brand of snack products, which includes snack cakes, fruit treats and snack bars.

Here, Igor is promoting the Bagaloo Apple Snack, a decidedly appropriate product for this leafy location.

Saputo’s bakery division ‘is responsible for all that Igor noise around the GTA,’ Jean-Francois Rheaume, trade marketing manager, bakery division, Saputo, confirmed in an email to MiC.

According to Rheaume, the campaign includes 3D billboards across Toronto, a TSA execution with audio at Yonge and Bloor, traditional TSA posters, and a three-storey poster on Yonge St. downtown.

Media planning and buying for Saputo is handled by Carat, and creative on the campaign was handled by Enzyme in Montreal.
