Microsoft and Raptors make a good team

The promotional hook-up is increasing daily live search volume among the basketball crowd.

Mississauga-based Microsoft Canada’s ‘Big Ticket Search’ promo with the Toronto Raptors attracted over 550,000 unique users since its launch in October, with media by Mighty, a division of Toronto-based Bensimon Byrne. It includes an online contest powered by Microsoft Live Search.

Until Dec. 31, participants can log onto and type in a search to enter the contest for prizes such as a Raptors VIP Package and a Mitsubishi Lancer SE, among others awarded daily. Stacey Jarvis, Microsoft Live Search Lead in Canada tells MiC that the daily Live Search query volume increased by 20% in the early stages.

During Raptor’s home games, the Air Canada Centre will have court contests and house a branded ‘Search Box’ fan zone. Other promotional material includes arena signage, video boards and a broadcast campaign. It includes 10-sec and 15-sec TV spots airing on Raptors TV, CTV, TSN, the Comedy Network, Discovery and MTV.
