Catering to the burgeoning iPad-owning crowd, Rogers this week announced that most of its prime-time programming will be available via its new Citytv Video app.
The free app includes access to full-length programs from the channel’s fall schedule, such as The Event, Modern Family, Fringe and Cougar Town. Users can also browse a TV schedule, sign up to be reminded about show days and times, share links with friends via social media and save viewing history and favourites.
Just like TV, the app is ad supported, with both traditional display (leaderboard) and pre-roll inventory available, and Scotiabank and Yellowpages.ca have both signed on as ad partners for the launch.
The Citytv Video app is being promoted on Rogers properties as well as via an ad buy with Casale Media and through the now Rogers-owned BV! Media.
