Petro Canada takes top spot: Media Monitors, March 28-April 3

Montreal also sees big changes with a new #1 and Gouvernement du Québec and The Home Depot both making leaps.

Petro Canada jumped to #1 in regional radio ad spend from March 28 to April 3 in Toronto, a leap that also bumped the gasoline dealer services and promotions category to #1 in the city for the week with 885 spots.

The move ends Rogers Communications’ two-week run in the top spot for Toronto. Rogers dropped down to #9 this week.

The biggest move of the week came from Aeroplan, which jumped from #27 to #4. Also making a move in the top 10 was Telus, which dropped from #3 to #10.

New to the top 10 in the weekly rankings is Public Mobile, which joins the list in the #2 position.

In Montreal, it was The Co-Operators buying the most radio time, moving to #1 from #3. This move bumped insurance providers to the #1 in the category rankings, with 183 spots. Last week’s #1, automotive parts and service, dropped off the top 10 this week.

Big moves for the week in Montreal include Gouvernement du Québec, which went from #19 last week to #3 this week, and The Home Depot, which went from #18 last week to #4 this week.
