Toronto-based Corus Entertainment has finally announced the launch date for its new channel, ABC Spark.
The US import, an offshoot of ABC Family, will premiere on Monday, March 26 and will include programming such as The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Switched at Birth and Melissa and Joey (pictured). No word yet on Canadian programming in the lineup.
The channel targets “Millennials,” or 15- to 34-year-olds, and is being promoted by Corus starting this month with nested programming blocks on YTV, W Network and CMT.
Branding and programming strategy will be in line with the US version of the channel, Corus said in a statement. Its website has also been launched at ABCSpark.ca.
The channel is launching in Canada courtesy of a multi-platform licensing agreement between Corus and Disney/ABC Television Group.
