Transcontinental bows Samsung mini-mags

Glossy insert packages editorial with The List of hot products to purchase this season, while a sister microsite brings them to life.

Transcontinental Custom Communications has just launched a holiday mini-magazine for Canadian consumers on behalf of Samsung Electronics Canada in the hopes of getting stockings filled with the co’s vast lineup of goods.

Inserted into the holiday editions of Canadian Living and Coupe de Pouce – which have a combined circulation of 410,000 – The List, published in French as La Liste, targets a broad-based demo of men and women of all ages, with the goal of lining up a variety of Samsung product categories – wireless, home appliances and consumer electronics – into one engaging content package.

With original editorial features, advice, guidance and gift ideas, the mini-mag aims to inspire, educate and ease consumers into the latest Samsung technology as a part of everyday life. The mag’s design also captures the spirit of the season with vibrant pages glistening with silver ink and graphics, echoing Samsung’s product design and innovation that delivers ‘digital experiences beyond imagination.’

With media buys handled by Cheil Worldwide on behalf of Samsung and 360 Degree Solutions for Transcontinental Media, the mini-magazine is part of an integrated campaign that includes a Samsung holiday microsite, The Samsung Holiday Home, delivered and custom-made by Transcontinental Media. The microsite invites users to come inside to learn tips, tricks and recipes to get ready for the holidays while showcasing its products. Inside, there are four rooms to click on – the kitchen, office, laundry and entertainment room – with Samsung product incorporated into each scene, and with a click, further information on the product is delivered.

Illustrated in flash animation, the fully interactive ‘home’ will be featured on Styleathome.com, CanadianLiving.com, Coupdepouce.com and Decormag.com.
