Interior design amateurs tend to think they have better taste than the experts, and a new show from the W Network will give them the chance to prove it. A new, half-hour series from the Corus Entertainment-owned station and Cineflix Productions starts filming this month, with direct involvement of TV’s most hyper and tanned design expert, Ty Pennington.
In each episode of Inside the Box with Ty Pennington, two contestants (friends, relatives, neighbours or work colleagues) will be given a team and 48 hours to create a themed room in each of their homes – however, they can only use the materials that arrive in a mystery crate.
Targeting woman aged 25 to 54, the 13-episode show, set to air this fall, is offering sponsorship packages that include brand sell, closed-captioning spots, open and closed billboards and customized blended on-air promotion tune-in spots.
The contents of each crate that the contestants must work with are chosen by Pennington, and they will be based on his interpretation of the contestants’ unique styles, with the intent to challenge them. The TV host made a name for himself in the industry after the popularity of show like Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and Ty’s Great British Adventure.
