CTV is slipping a peek at a new Canadian drama series in on the heels of the Canadian Idol performance finale.

A one-hour preview of Instant Star will air Wed., Sept. 15 at 9 p.m. – in high definition.

The fictionalized drama picks up where Canadian Idol leaves off, with a teenager winning an Idol-like competition and now faced with the changes stardom will bring to her life. The 13 x 30 min. series is currently targeted for a mid-season launch. Apart from the preview ep, it is still in the early principal photography stage. Instant Star is produced in association with CTV by Toronto-based Epitome Pictures (Degrassi: The Next Generation.)
