The Sopranos are hitting up Telelatino and the net is urging viewers to watch the hit series starting Monday, June 5 at 11 p.m. And they’re pulling out all the stops to grab attention including decaled vehicles with ‘dead bodies’ in tow, Eucan domination and university prof-hosted Sopranos 101 segments.
Beginning May 29, an OOH campaign will have Decaled Hummers circling Toronto complete with fake limbs hanging out of the trunk and the tag line: Watch weeknights at 11:00 p.m. or else. The vehicles will cruise downtown with Dr. William Anselmi, U of Calgary prof and host of the 26-segment Sopranos 101. Of the on-air segments, Telelatino CEO Aldo De Felice says, ‘These were done to add value. We found a professor who’s active in the Canadian-Italian community and he even teaches a course that details The Sopranos. He knows literary references and pop culture references embedded within each episode. So we thought he was perfect for this.’ The segments begin running on June 5.
In addition to the Hummers, part of TLN’s OOH strategy also involves more than 300 Eucan boxes bearing the creative beginning May 29 and running through the summer. DM pieces bearing screen shots from the series will also be blanketed throughout the GTA. Radio spots will air nationally. Media buys and creative were done in-house.
