An ambitious project for CBC in Canada and Oxygen in the U.S. that will likely attract beaucoup advertising when it premieres next year, the MOW version of Margaret Atwood's The Robber Bride began shooting in and around Toronto and Hamilton last week. Producers are Working Title Television and Toronto's Shaftesbury Films, whose recent productions include the highly-rated TV movie Eight Days to Live.

In the lead of Robber Bride as a duplicitous journalist who disappears is Mary-Louise Parker (Weeds). Costars are Wendy Crewson (Hunt for Justice: The Louise Arbour Story), Shawn Doyle (The Eleventh Hour), Amanda Root (Jane Eyre), Susan Lynch (Enduring Love) and Greg Bryk (A History of Violence).
