Star appoints managing director, online advertising

The Toronto Star likes this former Stockgroup Media ad sales director so much that they created a job just for her.

The Toronto Star has created a new position, managing director of online advertising, and appointed Theresa McVean to the post. McVean will work with multiple groups within the Toronto Star and across Torstar to create greater opportunities for advertisers, leading the online sales team and preparing the print sales group for selling fully-integrated media solutions.

McVean joins the Toronto Star from Stockgroup Media (publisher of StockHouse.com) where, since 2005, she was director of advertising sales. Previously, McVean was account director of Euro RSCF 4D – the world’s largest global interactive advertising and marketing agency. Between 1999 and 2005, McVean was senior account manager for The Globe and Mail/Bell Globemedia, responsible for advertising sales and establishing and increasing market share on its sites.
